Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Paolo Volani (“I”, “me”, “my”) collects, uses, and protects personal information you provide through paolovolani.com (the “Website”). I am based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and I take the privacy of visitors seriously.
By using the Website, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

  1. Information I collect
    I aim to collect as little personal information as possible. I may collect:
    – Information you provide directly — for example, your email address when you subscribe to The Investor’s Edge briefing, or your name, email address, and message when you contact me.
    – Information collected automatically — when you visit the Website, certain technical information may be recorded automatically, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and the dates and times of access. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6).
    I do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data, and I do not seek to collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.
  2. How I use your information
    I use the information I collect to:
    – send you The Investor’s Edge briefing if you have subscribed, and related communications about it;
    – respond to enquiries you send me and continue any correspondence;
    – operate, maintain, and improve the Website;
    – understand how the Website is used, on an aggregated and anonymised basis; and
    – comply with applicable legal obligations.
    I process your personal information only where I have a lawful basis to do so — typically your consent (for the briefing), my legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry and running the Website, or compliance with a legal obligation.
  3. The briefing and marketing communications
    If you subscribe to The Investor’s Edge, I will use your email address to send you that briefing. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you may opt out at any time. I will not add you to the briefing without your action, and I do not sell, rent, or trade subscriber lists.
  4. How I share your information
    I do not sell your personal information. I may share it only:
    – with service providers who help me operate the Website and the briefing (for example, email delivery, hosting, and analytics providers), who are permitted to use it only to provide those services to me;
    – where required by law, regulation, court order, or a lawful request by a competent authority; and
    – to protect my rights, safety, or property, or those of others.
    Some of these service providers may be located outside the United Arab Emirates. Where personal information is transferred internationally, I take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in line with this policy.
  5. Data retention
    I keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out above — for example, for as long as you remain subscribed to the briefing, or for as long as needed to handle and follow up on your enquiry — and then delete or anonymise it, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
  6. Cookies and analytics
    The Website may use cookies and similar technologies to function correctly and to understand how it is used. You can set your browser to refuse some or all cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being used; if you disable cookies, some parts of the Website may not work as intended. Where analytics tools are used, they are configured to limit the personal information processed.
  7. Security
    I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of storage is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
  8. Your rights
    Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to the personal information I hold about you, to ask that it be corrected or deleted, to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact me using the details below. I will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.
  9. Third-party links
    The Website may contain links to third-party websites, including LinkedIn. I am not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites. I encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
  10. Changes to this policy
    I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when it was last revised. Your continued use of the Website after any change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
